Your multi-family residential project could qualify for a $2,000 per unit tax credit if it meets certain criteria. Tax credit 45L was created by the Federal Government as an incentive for Owners and Developers to build more energy efficient multi-family communities. This tax credit can be applied for the year in which the project was completed and leased, and projects completed in 2015, 2016, and 2017 may qualify.

To determine if a project qualifies for this tax credit, existing energy calculations and data gathered on-site are used. The project must be 3 stories or less and all energy data gathered must be submitted by a certified Energy Rater for the certificate.
